STAR – SLA strongly believes that learners vote with their feet, and thus have selected a vocational approach that will provide an environment that learners appreciate and take advantage of. Driven by change in learner’s behaviours, attitudes and interests. We feel this results in our provision of Motorcycle Maintenance being both current and engaging to those learners who appear to be the most disengaged.
Learners levels of motivation will be targeted through the approach STAR takes in developing each learners level of ownership. Their progress will be monitored via a 6 point approach (Hence STAR), recorded via Individual Learning Plans. Conducted over 6 week cycles aims and objectives will ensure each learner is striving for the successful completion of their vocational qualifications and Functional Skills Maths, English, & ICT.
Our aim here is to provide clear progressive pathways to 3 post 16 destinations; Further Education, Apprenticeship or Employment. These destination will be a key focal point of each Individual Learning Plan.
STAR-SLA can also provide placements that complement Learners school curriculum 1 to 3 days.
